Not sure what to say?

While time passes so quickly, I am grateful that memories don't. Nancy and her family were a shelter and a second home for me. The little lake and magical woods became a refuge. Thank you again for your kindness and love Nancy and the Girls...

Mom,
You have taught me many things throughout my life. However these last years of your life I have learned the most....

-To be thankful for what you have.
-The true meaning of family.
-To never give up in the face of adversity.

Thank you for everything Mom...thank you for being you.

I will always love & miss you.

Your daughter,
Dottie

My family spent many happy hours at the house on Cedar Creek. Swimming, canoeing and hanging out at the dam in the summer. And many happy holidays at Christmas and Thanksgiving. There was always a warm welcome and good food and I remember Aunt Nan always showed much interest in us kids. She shared her love of the weird and wonderful and I remember my first experience with a Ouija board was with a group of us kids - and Nan encouraging us to ask questions and wait for answers.
She...

I always loved going to my cousins house and seeing my Aunt Nan and Uncle Bob. She was always very welcoming and never seemed to mind when all of us descended upon their house and I can only imagine now as an adult how chaotic it must have been with all of us. They were such good times and memories I will always treasure.

I remember too when later Nan moved to Southern California and when we asked what they were doing she had opened a video rental store and I was amazed at what...

I remember many happy Sundays when we took our children to visit their cousins at their place overlooking Cedar Creek. Nan was always so welcoming and a lovely hostess. She always seemed to be as warm and friendly towards her mother and father in law who made Sundays at their home a regular occurrence. Watching them make improvements to their country property was inspirational to our family who found a way to do the same thing eventually.

I've known Nancy since I was a teenager, that's quite some time. I used to go and visit her and her family often. She was always very good to me and treated me like one of her daughters. The girls were just kids at the time, but I remember playing with them and having a good time with them. They loved to show me around their beautiful home every time I went there. I loved Nancy and her family. Nancy will always be in my heart and in my thoughts. She will be greatly missed.

I went to school with Donna and one day found myself visiting her home. When I walked in, I felt an incredible sense of calm and peace. This place felt like a sanctuary and it became one for me for the next few years. Mrs. Lent, Donna, Dorrie and Dottie were all such wonderful people and made me feel right at home. I loved being able to take the canoe across their small lake and upstream into the woods, surrounded by nature. It felt like home to me and this was all due to the people who...

What a spitfire she was! Dorrie and Dottie, you made Nancy's days filled with love and comfort. No hospital or 5 star nursing facility could compare to the care you gave your mother. Thank you for allowing me to participate in such a moving experience. Take care of each other and may you find peace and comfort with the memories of your dear and colorful Mom.

Pizza Pan hugs, singing in the shower (all day long), that "you're so dopey" look, and best of all - "I Love you, honey"... God Bless You, your Viking spirit, and your baby boy!

With Joyous Love and Pride,

Dorrie
