This is the time of year I would paint outdoors with Nancy, so this is when I miss her the most. Afterwards, we would go to lunch and enjoy fascinating conversations about art. I loved that she wore colorful flowers on her sun hat. I have been wanting to add flowers to my hat and today I am going to go and buy some.

Nancy's passing was sad news. It was a joy to go painting with her and then go to lunch and discuss art. She was a true artist in every sense of the word. Her paintings were always innovative and unique. Recently she began wearing bright flowers around her painting hat. She said it caused people to become friendlier and approach her to talk about what she was painting and she liked that. Her heart was wide-open to anyone showing interest in art in any way.
