Nancy L. Peterson was born in Leaf, Mississippi on October 11, 1953. She was educated in Mobile, Alabama and attended Bishop State Community College. She later moved to Rochester, New York, where she was employed by Bausch and Lomb Optical Company and Eastman Kodak Company. She had a prosperous career caring for others in Mobile, Alabama. Nancy was a member of the Celestine Lucretia Jackson 533, where she served as Secretary. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and served as a Sunday School teacher.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents Ozean and Mary Thomas, and her brothers Rickey Earl Thomas and Donald Thomas.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband Willie C. Peterson, Jr., two sisters Lula Rodgers of Rochester, New York and Mary Merity of Mobile, Alabama; one brother Lewis Thomas of Mobile, Alabama; sisters-in-law Lisa (John) Palmore of Mobile, Alabama, Johnnie (Glen) Philogene of Mossyhead DeFuniak Springs, Florida and a host of nieces and nephew Jovano Plunner of Pascagoula, Mississippi.
