Steve, I am so sorry for your loss and to hear that Nancy's bright light in the world has passed. I had the pleasure of meeting Nancy at the Healing Garden, and instantly we were friends. She had such a positive spirit. It was a comfort to be with someone my age who shared a similar circumstance. I was lucky to know her and to call her my friend. My prayers are with you.

I am heartbroken and saddened by Nancy's passing, but amazed and inspired by her life. I spent two fun-filled years as her roommate in college. She was an incredible friend with a huge, caring heart and an unforgettable smile and laugh. It's no surprise that she went on to become an exceptional teacher, a devoted and loving wife, and an inspiration to so many. She was so very special. Wishing peace and comfort to Nancy's husband, family and friends.

Dear Steven and Members of the Pollock Family,
I am profoundly saddened to learn of Nancy's death. I had the privilege of hiring her in 1994, attending her wedding, and co-teaching with her several times while I was superintendent in Lincoln. She was always such a sunny, caring, and spirited person. I will miss her laugh, her devotion to her parents, and her steadfast love of her husband. I will never forget her courage when she was first diagnosed with cancer, how she rallied, and how she mentored children in our community who also faced the same dilemmas as she. She was taken from us too soon, and the world is diminished by her passing. She is a model of a life well lived.
My sincerest condolences to you all.
Sincerely yours,
Mark McQuillan

Very sad to hear of Nancy's passing. Nancy was my teacher at Rashi around 1990/1991, and I still remember her quite vividly. It must have been one of her first years teaching. To this day I still remember how kind and fun she was. Sending support to her family, friends, and the hundreds of kids she taught over the years.

Ms. Pollock was my fourth grade teacher. She had a way of making each child in her class feel like they were the most important one through her kind, encouraging words and attention. I will forever be grateful to her for building my confidence as a student. Ms. Pollock inspired me to become a teacher and I now have my own 4th grade class. She taught me to always have a love and passion for learning and for life. I am so very sad to hear of her passing.

Our son had Nancy Pollock for 4th grade (about 18 years ago!) until her illness first emerged and loved her class. Her romance with Steve McDonough, a much loved gym teacher by all our kids, was the talk of the school. Wonderful people. Best wishes from all the Walker family in Lincoln.

What an outgoing, bubbly person! Nancy loved her students, and they loved her. She told me once that it was important to her for people to just talk "regular" stuff with her, rather than see her as the person with cancer and inquire about her health. What an amazing lady! For several years, I had the pleasure of working with both her and her wonderful husband.
