Nancy Sharkey

I talked to her a year or two before her death to let her know of the passing of her cousin, Bob Green. She was pleased to be remembered by a family member from the Lowry clan. It seems she made a difference in a lot her music students' lives.

My condolences to the family and friends of Nancy. I had the pleasure of knowing her when we were both teaching at King School. She was always such a pleasant person and had a good sense of humor.

Myself and my brother and two sisters would like to express sadness. Nancy was our Step Mother. Even tho we where not close we are still family.

Nancy was a wonderful person - outgoing and an enthusiastic music teacher. She guided me in the beginning of my AAPS instrumental music career when we taught together at Bach elementary (the Open School at that time.) She was well loved by countless colleagues. My sincere sympathy is extended to her friends and family.

Mrs. Sharkey was my elementary school band director. I play the clarinet to this day because of her. What a wonderful lady she was. She was ever present throughout my music education in the Ann Arbor Public Schools, serving as a counselor and my cabin leader at Interlochen band camp in high school.
