Jennings Fly In, 2004

Gayle, we were so sorry to learn of Nancy's death. She was a joy and inspiration to know, and one of a rare group of women who could not only share the passion of flying but who could fly a Stearman. We are attaching a photo made at Jennings, in 2004 of five lady pilots who attended.

My deepest sympathies are extended to the entire Sanger/Smart families.

Nancy has been a dear friend since high school. My parents loved Nancy and I loved Nancy's family.

Nancy's spirit was indomitable. I called her frequently during the last two years and, regardless of how she felt, she was upbeat and still had that wonderful sense of humor.

We would like to extend our deepest sympathy to Nancy's family.
We met Nancy at Wiesner Field in Mineola TX. and have met each year that she was able to attend the National Bi-Plane Expo. We miss her greatly.

Gayle, I was saddened to hear that Nancy passed away. Thankyou for sending me the announcement with the picture. That is the way your mom looked when I first met her and to me she was always beautiful. She will be missed. I was on vacation and just now wading through all of my e-mails and wanted to touch base with you. Let's not lose contact and e-talk occasionally and keep each other updated. I know you are going through a tough time now but just know my thoughts and prayers are with...

We are so sorry to hear of Nancy's death. Our sincere sympathy. We met Nancy years ago at the National Biplane Flyin at Bartlesville, OK. We were friends since. The last time she was there with Marty she was on oxygen and had a very difficult time getting around. I had emailed her many times but didn't get a response as I now know that the health may have been the issue. Please fill us in on things prior. We have been so concerned and all of us at NBA kept asking each other about here...

I knew you mother and her parents briefly in 1958 at ROTC summer camp in Ft Sill, Oklahoma .She was a young and very attractive lady. I later rediscovered her via E-mail.

You and the family have my most sincere condolences. I could say much more and would like to be added to the guest book!

Sincerely,

Richard B. Howard
