Nancy Hillman Spakes, age 68, of Glenwood, died Tuesday, January 1, 2008.

She was born on July 7, 1939 at Fordyce, the daughter of Andrew Jackson Hillman and Bonnie Lou Epps Hillman. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Nancy was a member of the Glenwood First Baptist Church where she served as church pianist for over 35 years. She was retired from Thrash Propane.

She is survived by her son, Steve Spakes of Bryant; two daughters, Kristen Maynard and Laura Kay Mack both of Glenwood; four grandchildren, Kelley Fagan, Beth Shelton, Lane Smith and Haley Kay Campbell; one great-grandson, Kelyn Fagan; and three sisters, Carolyn Wall of Pine Bluff, Betty Nutt of Florida and Lou Bedell of Hot Springs.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, January 4, 2008 in the Glenwood First Baptist Church with Bro. Kevin Smead and Bro. James Owens officiating.

Visitation will be Thursday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Graveside services will be held 2:30 PM, Friday, in the Oakland Cemetery at Fordyce under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.

Pallbearers will be Marty Cantrell, Larry Mitchell, David Hale, David Bedell, David Norton and Ray Bradley.

Laura Kay we are so sorry to hear about your mom. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

I really enjoyed getting to know Nancy this past year. She was one of my favorite patients and will always be remembered for her kindness and grateful attitude. I know she loved her family so much because they were the topic of most of her conversations. God bless you all!

Laura Kay, we were very sorry to hear about your mom's death. Though we didn't know her well, we were aware of her health problems. Now she is free from all her pain. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this sad, difficult time.

Nancy was a truly wonderful lady. She had a beautiful spirit and was so much fun to be around. She will truly be missed. I am glad I got to know her and her loving & very supportive children. The love between Nancy, Laura Kay, Kristy, and Steve is a beautiful sight to behold and a blessing. My thoughts and prayers will be with you guys.We love you guys at HSD.
