Collier’s Funeral Home - Saint Ann Obituary

Nancy Kay Swantner (née Kennedy) September 21, 1946 – October 15, 2025

Nancy Kay Swantner, of Bridgeton, Missouri, a faithful servant of the Lord, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on October 15, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on September 21, 1946, she was the beloved daughter of Earl and Dorothy Kennedy.

Nancy was the devoted wife of Roy Swantner for nearly 60 years, a partnership built on love, faith, and unwavering commitment. Together, they raised three daughters who carry forward her legacy of kindness, love and strength: Donna Tobin, Elizabeth (John) Wyzinski, and Susan (David) Lueker.

She was a cherished grandmother to Theresa (John) Haase, Kathleen Tobin, Jared (Rachel) Wyzinski, Lee Lueker, Ashley (Robert Sheldahl) Wyzinski, Jacob Lueker, and Emily Tobin. Her grandchildren brought her endless joy, and she delighted in their talents, milestones, and achievements.

Nancy lived a faith-filled life, guided by the love of God. Her gentle spirit and embodiment of grace left a lasting impression on every life she touched. She was a talented seamstress whose hands crafted countless beautiful creations—quilts, clothing, and keepsakes—that are treasured by family and friends as enduring symbols of her love and artistry.

Nancy generously shared her time and talents to support her family, Church, and community. Whether helping at her parish, volunteering at her children’s schools and activities, lending a hand to neighbors, or quietly offering comfort and care, she worked tirelessly to create a better environment for those around her. Her legacy is one of compassion, creativity, and quiet strength.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday, October 20, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Collier’s Funeral Home in Maryland Heights, Missouri. The family will be present and warmly welcomes those who wish to share memories and pay their respects.

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be celebrated in honor of Nancy’s life on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Maryland Heights. Interment immediately following at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Hazelwood, Missouri.

Nancy will always be remembered for her devotion to family, her gracious heart, and the quiet beauty of a life well lived. She will be greatly missed by family and many friends. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The Care Service, an organization that reflects her passion to serve others. (Donations may be made online at www.jacares.org/donate or mailed to The Care Service, 4116 McClay Rd., St. Charles, MO 63304.)

Not sure what to say?

We knew Nancy through mutual friends and the Bridgeton Kawanis Club people. Nancy was a lovely lady, always ready with a smile. We would like to extend our sincere condolences to Roy and all the family. May your wonderful memories sustain you at this difficult time. Scott and Harriet Kosky (friends of Shirley and Ron Abernathy)

I am so sorry to hear of Nancy’s death. She created my daughter’s alencon lace wedding dress and train in 2000. It was so gorgeous and exactly what we had hoped for. I met Nancy as I was a teacher at St. Joseph Academy. She was a truly gifted seamstress and a very lovely person. May she rest in God’s peace.

A very nice lady who loved her family dearly. May u rest in peace. My deepest sympathies to her family and friends

I will miss you so much, I considered you a good friend who will be remembered in my prayers.
