Not sure what to say?

Very sorry to hear this but as a former student of hers she was one of the few teachers who understood me as student.

Nancy (always "Mrs. Torno") was my 7th grade teacher. She was a great teacher and a great person; she made a positive and lasting impact on me, and so many other kids as well. I´m grateful for having had that experience. Sympathy and prayers for all of her family.

It's lovely to read these memories and tributes. Nancy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a devoted friend to so many. She also was the best godmother I could ever hope for an a steady, loving presence in my life. She made an amazing apple pie and the best potato salad I ever had. My deepest sympathy goes out to the whole Torno family. She will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

Mrs. Torno was my teacher and had a positive impact on me and my fellow students. I feel that it takes a special person to be teacher and Mrs. Torno was a special person. Her family has to be very proud of the impact that she had during her time at Allendale Public School. My thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Torno, Susan, Gary, Keith and family.

My sympathy to Al and his family for the loss of Nancy. I appreciated Nancy's friendship, and I will miss our Tuesday morning chats. We always talked about how we were glad we taught when we did. I'm thankful that she had Al and her family for caring support.
