Mt. Zion - Mt. Zion Obituary

Nancy Isabelle Wright-McKown 80, formerly of Mt. Zion, IL passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015, in Scottsdale, AZ.
A service to celebrate Nancy's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion with Pastor Tracy R. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research. Nancy was born July 17, 1935, in Grand Prairie, IL the daughter of Ira and Thelma (Snyder) Wright Sr. She was the oldest of eight children and graduated from the Mt. Zion High School. After her graduation, Nancy worked for over 25 years at the Mt. Zion Hardware Store. In 1987, she married Keith McKown in Mt. Zion. They went to reside in Florida until his passing in 1991. After his passing, Nancy moved to Tempe, AZ to reside with her youngest brother, Rodney and care for their mother. In 2000, she and Rodney moved to Dallas, TX. In 2014, they returned to Fountain Hills, AZ. Nancy enjoyed being with family. She also enjoyed traveling, having traveled abroad several times. She was an avid baseball fan and loved the Chicago Cubs.
Surviving is her sister: Juanita Goodrich of Moweaqua; brothers: George Wright and his wife Judy of Decatur, Ira Wright Jr. and his wife Carmen of Madera, CA, Don Wright and his wife Dianne of Mt. Zion, and Rodney Wright of Fountain Hills, AZ. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother: Stephen and sister: Cleta.
