TRAVERSE CITY — Nancy Jean Wright, 76, and Tamula "Tammy" Adah Wright of Traverse City, left their very-close and loving family and friends on Christmas Day. The Lord said "Nan and Tam ... come-onna my house, a my house a come-on" (her favorite saying). Mother and daughter died together Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 2009, in a tragic house fire.
Nancy was born Oct. 19, 1933, in Jackson, the daughter of Vernal and Adah Wallace. Tammy was born Dec. 11, 1953, in Jackson, the daughter of Herbert "Herbie" and Nancy "Nan" (Wallace) Wright.
Nancy and the Wright family lived on High Lake for over 44 years. Nancy was employed with Ferguson's Traverse Supply for over 30 years before retiring. Tammy graduated in 1972 from Traverse City Senior High. After graduation, Tammy attended Cosmetology School and was a licensed Beautician. Tammy has lived in Miami Beach, Florida for several years, however returned here every year to be with her family. In the spring, Tammy came back here to Traverse City to live with her mother on High Lake.
Nancy and Tammy were very close and enjoyed many of the same interests, including cooking, baking, dressing alike, flowers, animals, deer camp and especially entertaining family and many friends.
Nancy and Tammy are survived by sons and brothers, Tom (Diana) Wright, John (Michelle) Wright, Sandy Wright (Tim, predeceased); Nancy's grandchildren and Tammy's nephews and nieces, Tomas "Tommy" Wright, Dakota "Cody" Norris, Amy Kwasky, John Kwasky, Amber Bottomley-Radtke, all of Traverse City; Nancy's brother and Tammy's uncle, Vernal Wallace Jr. of Miami; Nancy's daughter-in-law and Tammy's sister-in-law, Nancy's nieces and nephews and Tammy's cousins, Sally (Terry) Knott, Cindy (Scott) Hardy and Bob (Mary Lynn) Kurtz, Fred Bahlau, and his son's Rick, Randy, and Danny and families; longtime family friend, Rich Keaton of Traverse City; and Tammy's longtime companion, Michael Juszkiewicz of Florida.
They were preceded in death by Nancy's parents and Tammy's grandparents, Vernal and Adah Wallace; Nancy's in-laws and Tammy's grandparents, Herbert Wright Sr. and Harriet Braun; Nancy's husband and Tammy's father, Herbert "Herbie" Wright; Nancy's son and Tammy's brother, Tim Wright; Nancy's sisters-in-law and Tammy's aunts, Sally Heiler and Winifred White; and Nancy's stepmother and Tammy's step-grandmother, Fern Wallace.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, at the Cherryland VFW Post 2780.

I'm so sorry to hear this sad news, I worked with Nancy at the State Hospital. My husband Earl knew Herb & Nancy for many years & worked with Herb.

Tom and John,
