Chambers Funeral Homes - Cleveland Obituary

NASSIM M. LYNCH, age 71, beloved husband of Corinne P. (nee Ginley), dear father of John Patrick and Kevin James, son of the late Dorothy E. (nee Hilow) and John P. Lynch, beloved brother of Christine Dorsey (Joseph-deceased) and brother-in-law of James (deceased), Tom (Cathy deceased), Colleen (David Bolander), and Tim. Loved uncle, cousin and a dear friend of many.
A proud product of St. Ignatius of Antioch and W.110th Street; Nassim was an alumni of St. Edward High School in Lakewood, and matriculated at Ohio Dominican University earning a degree in philosophy. While always claiming to be a polymath, (“the nuns told my mother”) Nassim chose to earn an MBA From Baldwin Wallace University and later entered the role as the commissioner of taxation for the city of Cleveland where he served under five different mayoral administrations. Nassim was a proud American that embraced both his Irish and Lebanese heritages. He was active in all his communities; The West Side Irish American Club, St. Edward Alumni Association, the Neighborhood Veterans Club, the American Heart Association, and the St Bernadette’s and Krahla Golf Leagues. Passing away on October 3, 2025, which was coincidentally the day of the St. Edward and St. Ignatius football game, Nassim undoubtedly watched gleefully as the Eagles handled the Wildcats 45-31. An avid golfer, he could spend an afternoon telling you how he almost had a hole-in-one that one time. Always the one with a quip or historical anecdote, Nassim could “hold court” and tell stories for hours and cherished every conversation he had. A stoic yet gregarious, thoughtful, and caring man, Nassim was a confidant and friend to many.

Nassim often said, when he was making his long outros, “Tell all the people that know me I say ‘hello’.” We ask that you all do the same.

Relatives and friends are invited to meet for his Funeral Mass Thursday, October 9, St. Ignatius of Antioch Church (Lorain Ave. & West Blvd.) at 11 A.M. Friends may call at CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of CLEVELAND, 4420 ROCKY RIVER DRIVE AT PURITAS WEDNESDAY 4-8 P.M. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Edward High School, 13500 Detroit Ave. Lakewood, OH. 44107.
