Natalie Babel was a colleague at Barnard College of my mother, Prof. T.W. Greene. When mother introduced her to me, she was very sincere, kind, therefore friendly and with a lovely natural smile. We met in the early 1960s. It is clear that her father who died when she was a child, had a positive, kind and encouraging effect on her. I wish I had known her better and that she had lived longer.
