Nathan Frederick Deering

A man who knew that actions speak louder than words. As a Student Of Mr. Deering at Bloomfield Tech (1972-1976) you kind of just wanted to earn his respect. He was often thought of by me through the years with his "Today Is The Day Of Reckonning McCormick". Am truly sorry i never contacted him later in life. As many have said his caring and warmth will live on in all whom he touched. I'll try my best to "Carry The Torch". John J. McCormick

I just learned of Nat's passing on Sunday and was deeply saddened. He was my mentor (voluntarily) when I started my teaching career at Bloomfield Tech in 1975 and later we both taught at Newark Tech. He was a fine man and a dear friend. I also fondly remember him coming to cover my classes when my wife went into labor for the birth of both of our daughters. He will be greatly missed.

Reading Mr. Deering's obituary brougth back memories of my student years at Bloomfield Tech in the early 60's and what a kind and gentle man he was. My condolences to his family.
