Not sure what to say?

It's been over ten years since Mike Mazer left us. One of his legacies is the Air Force Association's Nate Mazer Award presented to an AFA member who volunteers to, and successfully support, the objective of the Air Force Association. I was recently given the Nate Mazer Award and was proud of what I accomplished to receive this award. But upon reading about Mike and HIS accomplishments, I am humbled to be receiving the award.

Mike Mazer was a good friend and a great MC and was always there to help us during our Memorial Junkets in England. He will be missed!

My wife, Hedwig, and I met Mike at our first reunion in Savannah in 1988. His light-hearted demeanor belied his serious accomplishments. He will be deeply missed by all his 384th comrades.

To the Family of Mike Mazer

Mike will be greatly missed at all future 384th meetings/Reunions, especially his unique sense of humor. He knew how to light up a room. Please accept my deepest condolences for the loss of a very special person.

Our condolences to the family.
I had the opportunity to meet Nate for the very first time in Utah when my husband Joe Carnes and I (Jean) attended the celebration.
What a fine man he was and so very outgoing and friendly, I felt as tho I had know him for years.
You are blessed to have had such a wonderful, proud and loving dad.
God Bless All.

I have met Nathan Mazer during the last meeting in England in 1999. He impressed me very much by his kindness and his way to be a real gentleman. We spoke about his time at the 384th Bomb Group. Thanks to him (and many others), Europe gained back freedom and peace. Thanks Nathan for this wonderful gift,

My condolences to the family of this wonderful man. I didn't know him, but I'm active in the 8th Air Force Historical Society, and losing our WW II heroes is always sad. I'm sure he will still know that we thank him for his wonderful service to our country in a time of great need, as well as his many other contributions throughout his life.

We first met Nathan at the 384th junket at Grafton Underwood in 1985. From that first meeting he offered his encouragement to us to complete the history of the 384th BG(H), of which he was the first Commanding Officer. We found him a modest man, with a wicked sense of humour, and dynamism far greater than his stature suggested.
All the time the 384th Association exists, Nathan's name will never be forgotten. He "Kept The Show On The Road".

The Fightin' Hebe has flown his last mission, like so many of his brothers-in-arms of the 384th. Will we ever again see such men in our nation? Our family sends its sympathies to all Mike's loved ones.
