Nathan A. Oxford, 81, of Bangor, PA passed away Monday, November 16th, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono, East Stroudsburg, PA.


Nathan was born in Pen Argyl, PA on February 19, 1939, a son of the late William and Margaret (DeHaven) Oxford.


He was the husband of Eunice C. (Miller) Oxford. They would have celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary this coming December. Nathan was a 1957 graduate of Bangor High School. He was employed as a Pipe Fitter at Ingersoll-Rand Co. in Phillipsburg, NJ., for 35 years until retiring in 2000. Prior to that, he was employed for the former JH Beers in Wind Gap.


He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bangor, PA. He was also a member of the Hi-Winders Car Club.


In addition to his loving wife Eunice, Nathan is survived by two daughters, Laurie Oxford and Jenny Prestegaard, wife of Christian, a son, Jeff Oxford, husband of Abby, a stepdaughter, Dyan Sortore, a stepson, Ronald Sortore, husband of Cherrie, a brother, Carl Oxford, 3 grandchildren Ryan, Issac, and Clara, 3 step-grandchildren Ryan, Kaitlyn, and Hailey, 3 great-grandchildren, and 2 step great-grandson. Nathan was preceded in death by a brother John Oxford.


A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., "Village of Johnsonville" Bangor, PA. Online condolences may be offered at gaffneyparsons.com.
