Nathan “Bubba” Pontious Jr., 13, of Iola passed away Thursday evening, Sept. 18, 2008, at Clay County Hospital, Flora. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Jackson Township Baptist Church, rural Altamont, with Matthew Zolner officiating. Burial will be in Little Prairie Cemetery, rural Altamont, with visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Pagel Funeral Home, Edgewood. Memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House. Nathan was born April 30, 1995, in Springfield, the son of Nathan and Anna (Ullrich) Pontious. He was an eighth-grade student at North Clay Elementary/Junior High, Louisville. He enjoyed fishing, basketball, skateboarding, the outdoors, and he loved his many pets. He is survived by parents, Nathan (wife, Rachel) Pontious of Iola and Anna (stepfather, John Tumlinson) Pontious of Victoria, Texas; sister, Audrianna Pontious of Iola; stepbrother, Austin Christy of Iola; grandparents, Norman Sr. and Gayle Pontious of Edgewood, Rich and Eva Fulk of Altamont, Joe and Mary Ullrich of Altamont and Alan and Lisa Howard of Victoria, Texas; aunts, Jeanne, Bonnie, Jennifer and Nikki; and uncle, Jeremy.

i am sorry for the loss of nathan... He was a great kid even though i didnt know him that well my sisters went to school with him at north clay. He will be in our prays..<3

and i know that i miss him as much as she does!!!

Nathan was the new kid at our school but he made a lot of friends fast.He was very funny too because every time you saw him he would tell everyone a joke.
