Not sure what to say?

Nathan I know you are singing in the angels choir in heaven. I shall miss your pearls of wisdom. I enjoyed every class I took that you taught. I respect your love for God, your family, and your friendship. Everything you did was for the good of your Community. Blessings my friend, Love Lisa Feraru

With much love and kindness and prayers to Nate on his journey. I enjoyed working with you and hearing your stories of life's memories and dreams of having a peaceful community. Miss you wonderful friend. Blessings of love n light to his family while they heal.

Nathan was both a support and a guide when I first began teaching at Humboldt. His knowledge of African American history was a gift and he was a neighbor when we both had offices in the lower library. Much love and good wishes to his family.

HELLO,first,i would like to offer my love and condolences to Mr.Smiths family and friends.Secondly.i had the privilege of knowing and talking with Mr Smith over the years. And i THANK him for his service to the community,,Rest In Peace Sir,,Job Well Done

I knew Professor Smith through HSU. Such an impressive, intelligent, warm man who gave so much to this community. My condolences for his parting, and how wonderful he had his loving family for all his many years.

I just returned from the beautiful service for Dr. Smith. My love and respect to his family. I wanted to correct a typo I made in a previous post. I typed the word dado instead of the word, radio. Dr.Smith had a radio program on KHSU called rap on race. And I had the joy of having Dr.Smith on my own radio show many years ago. I miss him already.

Nathan Smith was a warm-hearted and caring son-in-law to my parents and a superlative brother-in-law to my sisters and me. He was a Renaissance Man, a global citizen, a true and faithful Christian, and an extraordinary human being. We all miss his dry deprecating wit, his wry sardonic humour and jokes, his sensitivity, and his wisdom. Nate you are sorely missed by the Taufe'ulungaki family but we pray that you are safely home in the loving arms of our heavenly Father. May you rest in peace....

I had the honor of taking classes and learning African American History from Mr. Smith at HSU. It always bought a smile to me seeing him walk down the street or to have conversations in passing. My prayers to Liz, Pisila, his family and loved ones in the community. Their is very wise guardian angel watching over us now.

Nathan was a superb man. He always had a big smile and hug whenever we saw each other. Among his other accomplishments, Dr. Smith produced a weekly dado show on KHSU , he called Rap on Race. He also lead the Ethnic Studies department at Humboldt State .
I will miss seeing him at the annual MLK celebration this year.
We extend our condolences and love to his family. We are grateful to have known him.
