Zacharda, Nathanial G. age 10 of Elk River passed away on April 18, 2006. Nathanial Grant "Nathan" Zacharda was loved deeply by all who knew him. Throughout his ten years of life he battled cancer, though his fight was characterized by his joyful, optimistic attitude. Nathan had a love for life and a depth of love for people that would take many of us a lifetime to cultivate. His exuberance brought laughter to the nurses as he answered phones for them, it brought joy as he helped his Grandpa plow the fields. He added gray hairs to Grandma's head with his four- wheeling adventures. Through it all Nathan remained a good, little soldier in God's army, fighting the good fight until the very end. When his battle had been completed, God carried him peacefully to his new home in Heaven. Nathan is survived by his parents, William and Wendy; brother, Billy (Nycki) Zacharda; grandparents, Carroll and Virginia Bloomdahl; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Funeral services Sat 2 PM at Nowthen Alliance Church, 19653 Nowthen Blvd NW, Anoka. Interment Svea Hill Cemetery. Visitation Friday 5 PM to 8 PM at Peterson- Grimsmo Chapel, 250 East Broadway, Monticello. Further visitation one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Sat. Memorials are preferred. A special thanks to Dr. Nelson, nurses and staff for their devoted care for Nathan throughout his life. Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel 763-295-2918

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

When my best friend died, my Mom said to me, "Sometimes God picks the most beautiful flowers to plant in His garden." I liked thinking about it that way and hope you find some comfort in it.
