DEWITT, Nathaniel, of Richmond, departed this life May 9, 2013. He was preceded in death by three daughters, Doris Moore and Patricia A. and Carlissa N. DeWitt; two sons, Calvin N. and Karl L. DeWitt. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy DeWitt; two daughters, Willistine D. DeWitt and Christine M. Crawford; two sons, Marvin L. Sr. and Morris D. DeWitt; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Janie Simon, Maggie Smith, Edna Mae Zimmerman and Mary DeWitt; one brother, Asbury DeWitt; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; two daughters-in-law, Theresa and Lisa DeWitt; one son-in-law, Karl Crawford Sr.; four sisters-in-law, Lila Mae Montgomery, Mary Waiters and Theresa and Mabell Moses; one brother-in-law, Eddie Zimmerman; and other relatives and friends, among them a devoted James Stevenson. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Ave. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Fifth Baptist Church, 1415 W. Cary St., where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Dr. Ricardo Brown, pastor, officiating. Interment Riverview Cemetery.
