Not sure what to say?

A wonderful God Father whose smile would just capture the room he was in!!! May you continue to rest!!

Nat gave me my first teaching position in 1974...I worked at James Elementary School for 3 years..I continued to work in Charleston County Schools until I retired in 2003. I can say without any hesitation, Nathaniel Washington was The Best Principal I ever worked under. His love for his students and faculty was evident. No other principal could get mothers and fathers who may not have lived in the same house to be active participants in their childs school.Standing room only at PTA...

One of our biggest 'fans' on the sidelines of mine and Najeema's basketball days at Ashley Hall. He called me '3 point' and was always such a faithful supporter - always there with an encouraging word and a smile. He is missed!

I was a student that benefited from having Mr. Washington as my elementary school principal. He was a disciplinarian who cared for and nurtured every child that entered through the doors of James Simmons Elementary School. We definitely need more educators in the world like Mr. Washington today. He is truly missed by many.

Thank you Mr. Washington for believing in me even as a student at James Simons. You loved all of us like we were your own. You will never ever be forgotten! ❤

I cant believe it been 4 years...time moves too fast. Your impact on the world still ripples on. I am finally one step closer to my dream of becoming a judge. Im halfway done with law school and you will be on my mind when I graduate and pass the bar. Thanks for your encouragement...even as far back as 1988. Youre missed. Continue to Rest In Peace Mr. Washington ♥

Sorry for your lost.

To Jenny Lou and her lovely daughter Najeema--you have my deepest sympathy. Nat was my classmate and colleague in Charleston County School District. He was loved and highly respected by students, parents, staff and administration. We have so many fond memories of him--he was such an amazing person and phenomenal principal. His legacy will live on through all the lives he touched.

Trust with time, pleasant memories will bring smiles and sustain you during challenging times.
