Hello Renate I just came across this
notice regarding Nat. I’ve have wondered for years where you and Nat were located. Please accept our most sincere and heartfelt condolences. I always remember Nat lighting up the room and was a a big kid at heart who loved his family deeply. You all were so precious to him. We miss you and your family and hope one day we can meet again. You’re in our prayers William& Tanya (from Steilacoom, WA).

Nat was my platoon sergeant at Fort Riley, Kansas. I certainly never called him Nat. He was very strict and as fair with his soldiers. He led and I learned. I owe this man, a good man, more than I can write here. My heart sunk to learn of his passing. Let his children know that their father was a true warrior. Be proud of him.

My heart is heavy as another one of our "Welch's" candle has been dimmed. Nat, though your visits back home were few....you always showed up when the family needed you most. May you be at peace now. Much love to all my cousins!!!
