Not sure what to say?

Today is teacher appreciation day so I was looking for some of my favorite teachers. I was sad to find that Mr. Burney had passed and that I just missed telling him what a wonderful man, teacher and inspiration he was to many many students, including myself. Thank you Mr. Burney for all that you did for us...especially for those that struggled with math.Your goodness will be greatly missed. Westwood Class of 1985.

It saddens me to learn of Mr. Burney's passing. He was a remarkable person. As a teacher at Westwood Middle School, I worked with him for many years. He always took the time to listen, give advice, and help solve a problem. He cared about others and showed it in the way he lived his life. Although his earthly journey has ended, I'm sure he continues to work God's will from his heavenly home. My heart goes out to family and friends who will greatly miss him. May the good memories help...

Mr. Burney was my math teacher. I enjoyed his class so much. Always had an encouraging word. Truly a special person. May GOD comfort your family in this most difficult times.

You have given so much of yourself to so many of your students, family and community which is the real measure of what a great man is. I am honored to have worked with you and to be considered a friend. We have both been shepherds to the young people of our future. Yet your blood and your work live on in your son which is the way of Gods holy plan. You have earned your rest my old friend knowing that...

I've been knowing Elder and Sis. Burney since I was ten years old. He was a father figure to a lot of people at Jerusalem. Seeing his kids grow up and serving God. Sis. Burney keep ur head up and keep the faith. He's in a better place. Robert, Sara, Issac, and Daniel keep your father legacy going. Finish what he started. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family, as you go through this time of sorrow
