Not sure what to say?

I just learned of Ned's passing, and am very saddened by this news. Dr. Heindel was my graduate advisor at Lehigh. He was a great teacher, always instructive while making it fun. He was extremely supportive with any questions or needs, and really helped me out on several occasions. I may not have graduated without his support, and I consider him one of those life changing individuals. I received a wonderful note from him after my graduation, which I've saved all these years. A truly wonderful...

I'm very saddened and offer my deepest sympathies to Linda upon learning of the recent loss of someone whose guidance and patience made such a lasting difference in my life and carreer. Ned's insistence that I complete my research and move on to my thesis defense opened up my opportunity for postdoctoral work in the polymer and computer sciences that broadened my employment opportunities, and I was honored to be invited by him to give a presentation at Lehigh years later.

Linda, I just heard of Ned's passing and I'm deeply saddened. I've known Ned since our Princeton Days since the '60s (me a chem grad student, he as a post-doc) and we maintained contact over the decades, including when he welcomed me to the Lehigh Valley ACS Section in '67. You and he entertained Gloria and me at your beautiful home when we were still in Allentown. I last saw Ned (didn't know it was the last time) when I accompanied my son Steve and granddaughter Anna on her tour of Lehigh...

I got to know Ned when we collaborated on a fragrance project for BBA with one of his M.S. students. Later, he hired me to teach an online course on synthetic organic chemistry related to flavors and fragrances. Ned was a steady source of encouragement, wisdom, and humanity, and it showed in the affection of his students and colleagues. He made a great difference in my life, and I am sure in the lives of many others. He will be missed.

Ned myself Hal Pier and Bob Soder shared a lab at the University of Delaware as we worked on our Ph.D degrees. It was a pleasure to have known Ned. I remember the comradery in the lab. The give and take of shared expertise. Ned was always willing to share ideas with us. What I especially remember is us teaching Ned to play poker and occasionally joining us after a day in the lab for a beer. We would occasionally run into each other at American Chemical Society meetings and renew our...

Mrs. Heindel, I just learned this evening of Ned's passing. I am truly saddened beyond words. Please allow me to express my deepest sympathies to you. He was both my professor and mentor. From Ned I received support and encouragement. The world is a lesser place with his passing.

My deepest condolences to you, Linda. Ned was an amazing person. He was always there for me as a coworker and friend. He will be missed.
