Though I made an anonymous entry when I first read of Uncle Ned's passing in the Los Angeles Times yesterday, I've since had more time to reflect and wanted to prepare a more personalized, fitting tribute.

Answer to your own responsibilities. Know people for who they are not who you want them to be. Life lessons that you taught me 35 years ago. Uncle Ned you are as timeless as your lessons. You continue on as my Angle and best example of trying to be a good person who helped so many.

Uncle Ned was a invaluable fixture in my brother Joey and my lives for almost forty years. I will forever cherish some of the "sermons" he so lovingly extolled, especially the importance of "Seeing people for WHO they are, and not what you WANT them to be."
He was occasionally eccentric (of course!) but his love and support of the Bob Mitchell Boys Singing Choir for several decades along with the formative role he played in helping Joe and I throughout our childhoods will be forever...
