God Bless and keep you during this moment. Lance was a great man who impacted many. I am honored to have known such a man.

Dearest Friend and CWU Sister Marilyn, My heart's desire is to be with you today, but, circumstances dictate otherwise. My Husband Alden joins me in remembering Lance, “The Gentle Giant” for the hungry, Homeless and margin zed. His life was in-tuned with Dr. M.L. Our love goes out to all the family as we remember with such joy the fun times shared between the Wilcox and Shreffler families. Our dads are having such a wonderful reunion!

A wonderful teacher and a wonderful man

A relentless and tireless peace advocate and he had a calming and peaceful effect wherever he went. He could also be counted on to stand up for social justice. God will say, Well done, my good and faithful servant.

In the 7th grade, Mr. S. asked us to look out the window (onto Arlington Av) and asked the class what we saw. All of our answers were different. He said, "You see that all of your answers are correct. Please remember that all of our visions were valid."

Lance's caring and creative hand guided many fresh Freshman faces at OSU, easing their adjustment to a sometimes confounding setting, and making those of us who worked with them more effective at the same time. What a legacy!

Being on Mr. Schreffler's debate team was the best training for adult life. He taught us how to think logically and hold our own. I have always felt indebted to him.
