Dr. Ned Witkin

Ned and I spent much of our optometric career together. First in Florida at HealthAmerica and later at Emory on faculty. Ned and I shared a lot of memories together. Most of all I will miss that void of sharing ideas, papers, lectures and personal history. Ned was probably the best optometrist I've known, and we had been through many hills and valleys together. As I am writing this entry, I really can't believe he is gone. I will miss you Ned. Your Friend...Dr. Len Achiron

I'm grateful for the four years I've worked with Dr. Witkin. His dedication and passion for his profession has been an inspiration for everyone around him. We thank him for the unselfish way he willingly shared his knowledge with all who asked. We miss him, and will always remember Dr. Witkin and the knowledge he has left with us.

Ned will allways be remembered by Nancy and I for his compassionate ways, a wonderfull disposition, and his truly honest way of allways seeing good and positive in every moment of his day.An old saying best applies:
"..To be moral is to be virtous, to be virtous is to be natural,to be natural is to be one with the unending cycles of the Universe.Profound virtue is unconscious virtue.In other words, it is who you are, not what you do..."
We loved you then , love you now, and pray...

THANKS to Dr. Witkin for his many contributions to the Optometric profession and to mankind. His efforts will help improve the quality of life for our patients for decades to come.

Dear Beverly and Sehra
Our deepest sympathy goes out to you both on the loss of your beloved husband and Sehra's loving and wonderful father.
Ned fought hard and long and perhaps now he is finally at peace.
God Bless you both and know that you are deeply thought of in your time of sorrow.

Ned hired me at Emory and he helped make me a better optician. His demand for excellance at all times made everybody around him better. But his love for his family was always evident.

Ned was a truly good friend and much like a younger brother to me. He and I became close when we shared and apartment at Emory. I know Ned was a loving husband and father and was very lucky to have a wonderful family. My deepest sympathy to Sehra and Bev and the rest of his family.

I know Ned fought courageously. We talked several times recently and he was always optimistic. I admire his courage.

I will miss him.
