Not sure what to say?

SO SORRY TO HEAR JUST NOW OF NEIL'S PASING.
HIS FRIEND AND PAST REALTOR,
JACKIE LAURIN, OTTAWA

I just learnt from a colleague at work about the passing away of Neil. We were colleagues back in 1995 and we kept in touch for many years and had lunches together. I always enjoyed Neil's conversations and his mild manners and empathy towards others. I missed him and wanted to see him, only to learn today about this sudden loss.

I am a grand-granddaughter of Anders Jonassen who emigrated to Canada. I feel sorry to learn that Neil has passed away. I was happy to meat him when he was in Sandefjord Norway to visit my grandfather Gilberg Andersen. I was now ready to search for my family in Ottawa. My sympathy to the family.

It is with great sadness that I just learned of Neil's untimely death. My Christmas card was forwarded to a hospital then returned undeliverable.
A follow up e-mail remains unanswered.

As this was uncharacteristic after 30 years of card exchanges I only today through googling found the notice of Neil's passing.

Neil was the most spiritual individual I knew ... always seeking ... Areca (sp?) ... practicing Tai Chi ... pursuing Chinese painting ... being a Landlord...

My deepest sympathy for the McMartin family and to Sheila and all of Neil's many friends. I am very saddened by his loss. Neil was a kind and peaceful man, a cherished friend who will always remain in my heart.

My deepest condolences to your family.

To the Family of Neil:
I remember Neil aa a shy plausible person, always ready to conversate. Neil was geneous too, he invited us to his home and join the festivaties of "Winter Carnavil" but like most of us we never made it. Memories are an integral part of life and as we reflect on past memories we can find pleasure in life as it was many years ago. The Community of Cameron Township, and us school kids that knew and grow up with Neil will keep that part of our past alive. Our...
