Not sure what to say?

Nelda Kimrey was a friend of mine in DC from about 1978-1982. In a city as politicized, divisive and non-forgiving as DC (even 40 years ago, when it was not as bad as today, Nelda was the exact opposite: friend to everyone, healer, and no holder of grudges. She approached everyone not with predetermined answers, but with common sense questions and almost naive curiousity. I lost contact with her in the 80's, but because her name cannot be forgotten, every 10 years or so I'd google her and...

My sympathy to Lillian and Nelda's brother and sister. My aunt was Viola, wife of Ruffin Kimrey. The Kimrey and Gordon (Bolling) were related by your Grandmother and marriage to my Aunt. Claude would come by for a visit many times. I had never heard of multiple myeloma until my aunt was diagnosed in early 70's. She had a niece who also had the disease. Again, my sympathy to Nelda's family.

Very sorry for your loss. Thank you for specifying Myeloma. My partner has been living with Myeloma for two years. If anyone would be willing to share any history, we are ever curious about this mystifying disease. Very sorry for your loss. Barbara [email protected]

Dear Robert, and Nelda's family: May you have whatever may comfort and console you in this sad time, and the years to come.

It was a true pleasure to meet you Nelda! You were one of the most gracious people I have ever met! I enjoyed getting to know you Nelda and especially enjoyed our early morning walks when you lived in the South Hills of Eugene. You were right, having a walking partner was the best motivation to get out of bed at the crack of dawn and walk. Much love to you. You will be missed.

My heartfelt sympathies go out to my cousin, Robert, and the surviving members of Nelda's family.
