Nelda Morath Schreiber, 70, of Wichita Falls, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024.
A Rosary and Vigil service will be 6:00 p.m. followed by a visitation until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2024 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Rev. Kyle Walterscheid, celebrant and Deacon Jim Bindel, con-celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow at Saint Mary Cemetery in Windthorst under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.
Nelda was born on December 1, 1953 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Robert and Therese (Veitenheimer) Morath. She attended school at Academy of Mary Immaculate and graduated from Notre Dame High School in Wichita Falls in 1972. Nelda received a degree in pharmaceutical studies and began her career at Trott’s Drug Store and served customers faithfully for over 37 years, knowing each one by their first name. Due to Parkinson’s Disease and a bout with cancer, Nelda was forced to retire at an early age in 2012. She and David (Aggie) Schreiber were married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on October 26, 1974. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Wichita Falls.
Nelda loved arts, crafts and painting. She loved her family, her church, people, Christmas and Christmas trees. She was a very generous lady, always giving gifts to anyone that would accept them.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Charlie Morath; and her brother-in-law, Jerry Anderle.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, David Schreiber; her brothers, Ron and wife Richalene Morath, Daniel and wife Teresa Morath, and Michael and wife Khristi Morath; her sisters, Patti and husband Michael Sosebee, Susan and husband Tim Cummings, Marsha Anderle, and Mary and husband Gary Wolf; and numerous nieces, nephews and Godchildren who will miss her tremendously.
The family requests that memorial donations be made in honor of Nelda to the George Beaman Scholarship Fund or to the Ray Schreiber Scholarship both at P.O. Box 190, Windthorst, TX 76389; or to Brayden’s Gift, P.O. Box 51182, Amarillo, TX 79159.
