Read MoreSome of my earliest memories are of spending the night at Aunt Nellie's house with Carolyn and having her give us perms and do our hair. Then we would ride with Johnny and Nellie as we traveled to West Virginia to visit his relatives. Somehow we never thought of ourselves as poor as we shared the riches of friends and family. She was quick with a smile and I will always remember that about her.
