I am sorry to learn of your loss. Considering that we lived at the opposite ends of town, I'm not sure why, but your mom and mine seemed to stay in touch with each other quite well. Some 40+ years later, I remember my mother recounting a discussion with Nellie on clothing for teenage daughters.
Perhaps, they were both in the EL Child Study Group in the late 1950's, which in itself speaks volumes about her concern for you.
