I can't express how sad I am at the passing of Nelson. Braintree has just lost a man who touched many residents, most importantly the children, through his tireless efforts as Recreation Director. As a member of the Recreation Department for 50 years and Summer Recreation Supervisor for 46 years, I had the pleasure of working under Nelson for the last 6 years of my tenure and can say without reservation, that he loved what he did and represented the department with distinction. He was a...

I am so sad to hear about Nelson.
We are a year apart in age and grew up together. We were always in each other's homes at no. 82! We spent countless hours together on the street and in the schoolyard.

To the Chin family,
Words cannot accurately represent the void Nelson has left behind in our town and in our hearts. I had the pleasure of working with Nelson for many summers at the Recreation Department and I feel so grateful for the time I had with him. Even now, I am laughing through the tears remembering Nelson. He always knew how to get us all laughing. In fact, I can still picture him wearing his Viking hat in the office and preparing for his boxing photo shoot at BELD.

He had many friends amongst the classmates of Boston Latin Class of 1971. The 50th Class Reunion was right around the corner. Good memories also from Chinatown where he was born and raised.

Sue and Family -
I was very sad to hear of Nelson passing.
I met Nelson through BYS. He truly lit up a room when he walk in. His smile his laughter he is a top notch guy. Nelson remembered everyone he met whether it was 20 years ago or 20 minutes. He will be missed but not forgotten he did so much for the town of Braintree and the youth too. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during these trying times.
