Dr. Nelson N. Cushing

Dr. Nelson N. Cushing, 85, a retired United States Army Officer,Director of Education,Sportsman, Bussiness Owner, and Artist died in Tucson,Arizonia on March 11, 2007. Nelson was born on March 7, 1922 in Mansonville,Quebec and grew up in North Troy,Vermont. He is survived by his sisters: Geneva Orne, Janet Highland, and Florence Kotoff. Other siblings included Irene Placey, Lawrence and Leo Cushing. Nelson “Zeke” married Madeleine “Peanut” Cadieux also from North Troy,Vermont on January 8, 1945. He is survived by his children Linda Miller, Wan Hallock, and Norman Cushing and by grandchildren: Meghan and Madeleine Miller,Stephanie Shrout,Cody Cushing and a great grandchild Cassandra Shrout. Friends may call from 7-9 P.M. Friday June 15,2007 at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home, 4670 Darling Hill Road, Newport where a service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday June 16, 2007. Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery,North Troy.
