Nelson Eddie Kowlessar was born October 23, 1939 in British Guiana (Guyana) to the late Nardie and Albertha Kowlessar his parents. He was born the second of six children. Nelson was predeceased in death by his parents and two children Jacqueline Kowlessar and Christopher Ramsay and two siblings Frank Kowlessar and Leland Thompson.
Nelson attended Trinity Methodist School and was highly active in a variety of athletic sports, especially his favorite weightlifting. Subsequently after finishing school he became employed as a police officer in the city of Georgetown before migrating to the United States of America in 1968.
Nelson worked as a Custodial Engineer Manager for Beth-Abrams Hospital and Nursing Home in Bronx, New York, for 35 years. A few years after Nelson retired, he moved and settled in Virginia Beach VA with his wife Dawn. Nelson passed away peacefully on Sunday January 24th, 2021.
Nelson was an Elder at The Word Church and Restoration Center Virginia Beach under the leadership of Apostles Clarence and Eva Sloan.
He leaves to cherish, his devoted wife Dawn Anderson- Kowlessar, Children: Joy Hubbard and (Shelley) of New York, Nelson Kowlessar Jr. (Pearlie) of New York, Orrin Kowlessar and (Ann) of New Jersey, Bridgett Kowlessar-Williams and (Shawn) of New York, Joseph & Joslyn Kowlessar of Guyana, Francine Ramsay-Brown of New York, and Phara Solon of Norfolk, Virginia. Faithful pets Jaydah and Kiki. Grandchildren: Dacia, Leon, Zelini, Sheldon, Orrin Jr, Keisha, Deion, Tamika, Orrianne, Stephen, Alesha, Quincy, Thandi, Justin, Phara, & Shekira. Great Grand Children: Chelsea, Mason, and Aubrey Jr. Siblings: Maurice Kowlessar and (Marion) of England, Delores Kowlessar of Washington DC, Leslie Kowlessar of Guyana, and Leon and (Claudette) of Virginia Beach Virginia.
Special Acknowledgements:
Devoted niece and nephew Patrick and Donna Louis of Orlando, Florida. Spiritual sister Angela Laird of Virginia. Leslie his nursing attendant of Virginia.

My senior cousin was an affable and energetic personality.
