Dear Mrs. Marie Lao (Alex, Patrick and Elizabeth, too)

I am an old neighbor of yours, and a friend of your husband's daughter and his sons. I lived next to Kitty (your Aunt?)in Coral Gables as a child, in the house on the corner. I knew your husband through a child's eyes. I am still a friend to his daughter. I send you my deepest condolences on your loss. His life and loss are great for many who knew and loved him. I remember that he introduced me to many things as a child: ...

How do you adequately describe a man such as Nestor Lao? Certainly you can list his many accomplishments. But that is not always the true measure of the person.
I have considered Nestor a good friend for over 15 years. I vividly remember the first time I met him...his big, friendly grin and mischievious sparkling eyes that made you think "puppy play" and that, in the ensuing years, was not too far off the mark.
A man of many enthusiasms, the greatest of which was...

Querida Maria:

Dear Maria, my deepest condolences I do feel for you.
My dear Father, I will miss you alot and I will never forget you. You will always be in my heart for the rest of my life..May the angels take care of you like I imagine they will. God Bless You My Dear Father. Love Liza, your daughter.

Maria
I just finished reading Nestor's obituary and was surprised how litte I knew about a man I considered a friend for over ten years. But then I only knew him from the club. Your are lucky to have known him so much better and longer. Your memories are so much richer.

Mrs. Lao: My sincerest condolences on the passing of Nestor. It was my privilege to be his oncologist before I retired and I was impressed by his intelligence, perseverance and bravery. I know how much this exceptional man will be missed.
Please extend my sympathy to your children and the other family members and my best wishes to you all.
