Nettie Tafolla Ramirez born September 8, 1944, in San Antonio, Texas went to be with the Lord on February 2, 2024, at the age of 79. She is preceded in death by her parents: Humberto and Nettie Tafolla; brothers; Humbert, Rocky, Edward and Ernest Tafolla; beloved husband of 57 years Tony Ramirez Jr.; and son and first-born Ralph Ramirez.


She is survived by her daughter, Christine Martinez; son, Kenneth Dean Ramirez, and his wife, Nicole. She also leaves behind her beloved cat, Miss Kitty. Additionally, she is survived by her grandchildren: Shaun Christopher Martinez, Ted Gabriel Martinez, Monica Santos, Marisa Flores, and Mariah Nicole Ramirez; along with her precious great-grandchildren: Penelope Flores, Mavis Santos, Mabel Santos, and Manu Santos. Her passing is mourned not only by numerous extended family members and friends but by all who were touched by her grace, laughter, and unwavering love.


Nettie’s deep love for her family and the significant impact she had on everyone she met will be cherished deeply. We will miss her presence in our lives. Nettie loved Cats, Roses, Elvis, and the Cowboys. She was very witty and full of Wisdom. 


The family wishes to extend gratitude to Vitas Hospice in Patient Unit who provided the most superior care throughout this journey. 


Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, February 20th, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a rosary at 7:00 PM to be held at Hillcrest Funeral Home.


Departure from Hillcrest Funeral Home will be on Wednesday, February 21st, 2024 at 8:45 AM for a 9:45 AM committal service at Fort Sam National cemetery located at Shelter #5.
