Read MoreAlways a gentleman! A second Cousin, first to my Dad Albert J. Viscione. I had him as a Guidance Counselor and Teacher at Washington School and got to speak with him at various occasions. He remembered many events from long ago in great detail. Sad to see they just tore the old school down. Eternal rest in peace.

I remember Mr. Barber well as the Bridgewater-Raritan East (at the time) high school guidance counselor who helped a slightly overwhelmed kid face the brink of adulthood. He made his students each of the thousands of them know they were listened-to. He played a huge part in replacing confusion and fear in young adults with confidence and optimism. Which is pretty cool.
The students and families of Bridgewater are lucky to have had him on their side for so many years.
