Not sure what to say?

Nick was our friend since the day we met him as fellow Fulbrighters in Lille, France. He was the charming outlaw in our group, ever challenging the staid traditions of French society and ever getting away with everything thanks to his boyish charm, that deftly disguised a brilliant mind. Sorry to hear this news. Always considered Nic to be a friend even though we didnt see each other often.
