Nicholas had an electric grin; the kind that made you wonder what he was thinking, but knowing in your heart that while the context was perhaps mischevious, the thoughts would be kind. I knew him forever--all his life. He'd be at his grandfather's and grandmother's home, weddings, funerals, about town, driving his car, later with girlfriends... My fondest memories are they latest I have of him. Watching him by the side of his dying grandfather amongst family chaos and terrific sorrow he kept...
