Not sure what to say?

NICK WAS ALWAYS A GOOD PERSON. WE WILL MISS HIM. I HAD NOT SEEN HIM IN YEARS AND WE WOULD HAVE LIKED TO HAVE BEEN THERE FOR THE FUNERAL AND MORE THAN THAT WOULD HAVE LIKED TO HAVE SEEN HIM MORE WHILE HE WAS ALIVE. THE IMMEDIATE FAMILY IS IN OUR PRAYERS AND THOUGHTS. LOVE, JANE, CHARLENE, SHANNON, KRISTAL AND MARILYN .

As a high school classmate of Nick's, I want to express my sympathies to his children. My favorite "Nick" story would be the day after the presidential election in 1960. We went outside at recess (6th grade) and looked at the sky, because we were pretty sure the world was coming to an end. Not only a Democrat, but a Catholic as well, was taking what was rightfully Mr. Nixon's. Our world views have grown up since then, as have we all. We will all miss him.

Memory is a thing both strange and wonderful. The way my mind works, it truly seems as if the summers of 1965, 1966 and '67 were yesterday. There we all were, hoping to survive the summer, working hard, getting dirty, being seriously sunburned and otherwise beaten about by farm life.

Harold McKinney always said he appreciated your help; I benefited from your intelligent conversation at the dinner table.

Rest In Peace!

Barbara Doll McKinney

Dear Jeff, Cameron, Haleigh, Laiken, and Grant: Your father was a remarkable man. He was universally respected and liked. I am so sorry for your loss.

To Nick's family-- Was so shocked and so sorry to hear of his death. I hadn't seen Nick for many years but he was a neighbor and classmate of mine and I have many good memories while growing up with him. I always enjoyed him so much. My thoughts are with you all. The Class of 1967 we will making a donation at a later date in Nick's name.

Our high school was small enough that we all knew each other, even when we weren't classmates. The Coldwater Class of '68 sends condolences to all of Nick's family.

There was not a person with more savoire faire and sophistication who came out of Coldwater. He wore a Howdy-Doody show shirt to his Kindergarten class picture and told me all about Sputnik, because he had one of the first TVs in Coldwater and, like most then, my family had only a radio.

In high school forensics contests, he could expertly extemporize on current events in politics and foreign affairs. He was unrivaled. We once mortified the Reverend Horney in MYF when we debated the...
