Not sure what to say?

Hello, We wanted you to know that we will be honoring and remembering your loved one this holiday season. We are sending Care Packages to our deployed troops in his name. Each package will carry the name, photo, service branch, rank and hometown of Nicholas Cain Kirven US Marine Lance Corporal. We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the...

It was an honor to serve with you. I will never forget you or your sacrifice. S/F

Nicholas, I think about you and your family often. We never met but I grew up friends with Morgan and over the years I heard so much about you that I felt like we had known each other all our lives. We joined different branches of the military about the same time, went to train in different places and when you were back in RVA, I was out for training or vise versa. In 2005 we were deployed to diffent countries and I will never forget the heartbreaking letter I received in late May. You are...

My son served in India Company and was deployed with 3rd Bn. 3rd Marines to Afghanistan at the same time. Every Mother's Day I think of Nicholas and Cpl. Ricky Schoener. My son is leading a good life and remembers every Marine in the battalion with whom he served who lost their lives in Afghanistan and later in Iraq.

I don't know you and you don't know me, but I receive a yearly e-mail from this site which brings me back to Nicholas' page. I think again of him and others who have paid the ultimate price for our country, for my freedom! I am so grateful.

I realize it has been several years since you lost him, and I can only imagine how much you still miss him. May you find comfort in your memories, in the God of all comfort and in a small way, of knowing that his story continues to touch a...

Remembering you this weekend, Nicholas. I am so thankful for you and your sacrifice. keep looking over us bud.

As I am writing a memory for a family memory book for my former boss Senator John Glenn, I am struck by how many good memories I have of Senator Glenn. The one that keeps coming to me is personal. Senator Glenn came out to give Beth -- Nicholas's purple heart. It meant a lot to me but more importantly it meant so much to his family especially his mother. As I write in the Glenn memory book I decided to take a look at this guest book again and read some of the posts and to look at the...

Not forgotten. Rest in peace.

Dear Mrs Belle and Mr. Kirven. My son, Thomas Patterson, went to Parris Island with Nick and was assigned to 3rd Bat, 3rd Marine with him. They were both deployed to Afghanistan at the some time, but at different locations. I would really love to talk to you both. email me at [email protected]. My son thought a lot of Nick.
