Rest In Peace Fr. Nick

Fr. Nick Marro was a dear friend of our family for at least 40 years. I loved talking to him because he had so many great stories about my family before I was born and the Bears since he was the Chaplain of the 85 Super Bowl Team. However, the greatest memory I will have of him is his name, Nicholas. My parents named me after him and I will always remember him because of that.

Dear Marro family
My condolences on the passing of Fr. Nick. He was such a solid base at St. Peter's church in Sarnia, ON.
His warmth, humor, and compassion were always welcome. Since I attended Northwestern U. in Evanston
and had an aquaintance in Oak Park Ill., I found our meeting to be unique. I often missed him on Sundays
after circumstances caused our paths to separate, and often wondered to where he had disappeared.
Thanks to the internet I now know.

Heartfelt and prayerful condolences from the Chicago Police Chaplains. Fr. Nick will be remembered at the Police Mass on Sunday, 28 JUL, 11:00 a.m. at Mercy Home - 1140 W. Jackson Blvd. In the meantime, may family and friends know the healing touch of our all-loving, all-merciful God! [Police Chaplains Ministry: www.ChicagoPCM.org or 312/738-7588]

R I P Fr. Nick. Thank you for your years of friendship and support. We will miss you. Josie and Ron Savage and family

He was firm in his teaching, but he made me feel loved and important. We were one of few immigrant families of colour in our church but he was always so kind and welcoming. He made going to mass a want and not a must. He was funny, when he would announce that the homily would be short due to a...
