Not sure what to say?

I succeeded Nick at Hershey in 1989 and, with his help, had a wonderful, exciting, and productive 10-years run there that inspired the leadership to build a fabulous Childrens Hospital. The faculty I inherited was dedicated, talented, and devoted to the well-being of children. At the start, Nick offered to do whatever was needed and he did. He took the role of an Intensive care fellow until he was needed to support his spouse during her illness.

I was a Fellow under this Beloved physician in 1969 -1970. He was a superb researcher, a gentle person, in all a great Dr. It is with great sadness that I learned about his passing. My condolences to his family. With Fondest Regards, Esther Eisenstein,MD.

I just learned of Nick's death today. He was the most honest and critical person I ever met. He was always an inspiration and mentor. He was always there for all off us. friends, fellows ,residents. Nick was an ever present inspiration. I will miss him. If there is a personal charity or other worthy recipient of a memorial to Nick , please let me know. Martin Greenberg. Savannah,Ga.

I was so saddened to learn of Nick's passing. As a long lost cousin, we managed to find one another and meet 2 years ago. I was looking forward to another visit. I loved meeting his daughter Maren and extend my deepest sympathies to her and the family. I hope we will not lose touch of one another.

Doc 2012

Nick was a good friend and an ideal past chair of the excellent department that he built and that I inherited from him. He saved his advice and criticism for private sessions and was willing to do anything needed for the good of all and the benefit of children.

Thank you for your service.

Nick Nelson built a Department of Pediatrics that anyone could be proud of. He was a staunch supporter of education, research and most importantly, improving the lives of children. I cherished his friendship and will miss him greatly.
