Nick will be missed so dearly. He took me under his wing at the age of 9 and gave me my first guitar to practice. He taught me almost everything I know about music and was such a kind and generous soul. I pray he is at peace.

It was a long difficult struggle....hope he is at peace now. But we here on earth surely will miss his humor and his banjo playing

Many wonderful memories from Cedar Street neighborhood days and of course to Dixieland. Between Nicks Dad and my Dad who were great music friends, I hardly remember a time when there was not music being played in our homes, it was just in our bones. And Nick, I do forgive you for hanging my J C Higgins bike in Granville's tree. I have no doubt that you can teach those angels some mean banjo strumming. Rest in Peace Nick.

We were so sorry to read of Nick's passing. He wrote many fun filled articles for the Lawndale Newsletter and I know he will be missed by all his family and friends but the heavens will be playing some new kind of music with Nick at the lead.

My sympathy for your loss. Nick was a person my husband, Charlie Hooks, truly enjoyed! One of his last "gigs" was with Nick. This world will miss him!
