Dear Gene and family -We just recently learned of your brother's passing. We are sorry for your family's loss. You may remember us from ASJ - Katie and Alex were friends.
My brother, George Spruce, worked with the Racanelli Construction. He was a surveyor for Van Wheele. George spoke very hightly of the
Racanelli men. He always said that they were men of their word.
All of the Racanelli sons have carried on that tradition. Nick's passing was a loss to the...

To the best Boss anyone can ever have.
Nick, I have so many things that I want to say to you, and still want to talk to you about. I miss our talks and our laughs. I sit in your office sometimes and just look around at all the unfinished things we had to do. I have "wonderful" memories of you Nick and I feel honored to have known you for the past 22 years.
Thank you for all of your guidance, caring and concern that you always had for me. You will always have a special place in...

I am Andre's youngest son. My family and I were away for Nick's passing and missed his viewing. I was truly saddened to hear of your loss. He was a wonderful friend to my father and my family. I was able to attend the funeral but not to convey my deepest sympathy to all of you. I hope that the happy memories you have of him soon out weight the sorrow of your loss. He truly lived as we all should. We will keep in our prayers always and hope we meet again.

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times" and so was our vigil last week. Losing Nick was certainly the worst of times for all of us.
I have, however been pondering the good moments we shared. We were united as a community which was there for the common purpose of honoring Nick and lamenting the fact that he would no longer be among us. Each of us said that we were better people for having had him in our lives. I found that I was as able to converse, freely and openly, with...

How sad I was to hear of Nick's passing. I first met him in the early 80's at a gym in Syosset where we quickly became friends. He offered me a place in his organization upon my retirement from the Nassau County Police Dept. I saw him often in the 3 years I worked for him. I relocated to N.C. and didn't see him after that, but I always asked mutual friends about him. He was a mentor and generous friend. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy. I will miss him.

My condolences to the Racanelli family. I know you won't recognize my name but I want you to know that Nick was respected and liked by the many NCPD officers he came in contact with. In the 1970's I drove a plainview old bethpage car, the old 803. It would not be uncommon for us to discover an alarm ringing or an open door in a racanelli building. More often than not the man that responded in the middle of the night was Nick! He always showed up smiling and saying "hey guys what did you find,...
