CHAMPLAIN-Nicholas R. Roberts, 21 of Champlain passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013 as a result of a snowmobile accident. He was born July 27, 1992 in Plattsburgh. He is the son of Robert and Gail Roberts. He was a Corrections Officer in the state of Vermont. Nick was also an amateur mixed martial artist and a member of Plattsburgh Combat Sports. He loved racing his mustang in Napierville, Quebec on Friday nights. He loved snowmobiling, four wheeling, pulling with his four wheeler at the Mooers Labor Day celebration; he enjoyed hunting and fishing and he loved his dogs. Nick was always the life of the party. He loved spending time with the love of his life, Camille Piche. Nick was very close with his three brothers, their lives were intertwined and they did everything together. Not only were they brothers, they were best friends. Nick was predeceased by his grandparents,Clyde and Pauline Roberts and Robert Marks. He was also predeceased by his cousin and best friend, Adam Poquette. Survivors include, his grandmother, Diane Marks of Rouses Point; his parents, Robbie and Gail Roberts of Champlain, three brothers, Cody Roberts and his wife Jaylane of Mooers, Kacey Roberts of Champlain, Dayton Roberts of Champlain; the love of his life, his girlfriend, Camille Piche of Rouses Point; several aunts and uncles, Todd and Maryanne Marks of Rouses Point, Kevin and Donna Marks of Rouses Point, Robert and Jaylyn Marks of Rouses Point, Darlene and Allen Poquette of Champlain, Matt and Christina Marks of Rouses Point, his God Parents, Brenda and Roy Cardin of Champlain, Michael and Shelly Roberts of Champlain as wellas several cousins and close friends. Calling hours will be Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 2:00-7:00 p.m. at the Ross Funeral Home in Mooers. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, January 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Champlain. Donations in Nick's memory may be made to his family to establish a fund for young hockey players, the Humane Society or Plattsburgh Combat Sports.
