Not sure what to say?

Just a short note to say that I'm thinking of Nick, on this cool, wet, April morning... and remembering our times together at the University of Maine.

When bringing up the obituary for my grandson, Nicholas Robertson Hammer, your Nick's name came up too. In reading about your Nick, I was very impressed with all of the exemplary tasks and skills he acquired at such a young age. I know that all if his family and friends are still grieving his loss. After 14 years I still hurt and miss my grandson Nic terribly. Losing him has become even more poignant since his older sister Olyvia passed away 6 months ago. Try to rememberall if the times he...

I'm not sure if you remember me, I was one of Nick's college friends. I still think about him almost every day in the way we use language, the way we think about what we know and how we know it and more. When I remarried and my current wife I were expecting I knew I wanted to name our first child after him. Her name is Nyx and she reminds me of him, she's smart, strong, independent, caring, loyal, funny and a wonderful friend to those around her. The memory of Nick has not faded from my...

To Nick's Family: I am thinking about Nick today and his sacrifice (and the sacrifice of Nick's family) for our country. I hope you are doing well and I just wanted to say that I think of Nick and family more than you could know.

But I was his team member on SOT-A 307, and I miss him dearly. He actually had a certain affinity for mathematics, and he helped me complete my prerequisites for ROTC and college. Fast forward 7 years and I am now an Army Physician Assistant, and I owe a great deal of my...

Bought a jacket in your honour "house in the woods" for your dear friend and classmate.

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Robertson-
I just posted a remembrance of Nick to the comments section of Wilson's blog post and I thought that I'd share it with you and the other guests here...

Hello Mr. and Mrs. Robertson...I just want to say that I am thinking about you today and do so often. I thank you for your wonderful son and all he did for us. My son is Marshall David Stewart who was in Nick's group in Afghanistan and visited you in Maine with the other soldiers. My heart goes out to you on this Veterans Day. Please take care.
