Nicholas S. Snow

To the Snow family,
Nick was always and will be forever a part of the Brown family. A dear, close friend of my late father, I remember him from a very early age, as my father & Nick enjoyed a great friendship through the organ music. What a sweet, wonderful, soft-spoken, talented man! As my Dad got older, and illness came, Nick never forgot him, sending organ tapes for him to listen to, which surround me in my home now. At 40 years old, I finally had time to take piano lessons. Nick was my teacher and his priority in my lessons was to allow me to love it. It wasn't a chore, but an adventure. He was patient, encouraging, funny and generous. He would share stories about his visits with his family and being a granduncle. He was a good teacher and we talked about so many things. I'm sure if there had been services, the place would've been packed... We will all miss him... and I'm so grateful for the way he...

Mr. Nickolas Snow was a great joy to work with the last two years. I was his pipe organ tuner at the First United Methodist Church in Kittanning. Nick and I always ate lunch together after tunings or emergency calls. He visited my shop several times. He was an unusually gifted musician. Nick was the accompanist for the Concert Choir at Butler High School and was awesome. We were all drop-jawed to learn that he could not sing a note BUT he could play anything on the piano or organ. Doc Dryden's choir was the better for Nick Snow! (How he deserved to be voted Most Musical boy in the Class of 1959!) He shall be missed. We all missed him last summer at the 50th reunion.

Mr. Snow was my piano teacher since 2nd grade. He was the first person to ever teach me anything about music. Mr. Snow was always so passionate about teaching. His passion helped me to love music and the piano. Now, 14 years after I first stepped foot into his studio, I am graduating college with my degree in music education. Mr. Snow was a great influence on my life. I hope that I can someday be half the teacher and kind person that he was to me.

I was deeply saddened by the loss of my teacher and my friend.
He was a great inspiration to me and will be missed.

I am writing on behalf of Nick's many friends in the Pittsburgh Area Theatre Organ Society (PATOS) of which he was a charter member. Please accept our condolences. We were fortunate enough to have Nick work on the Society's Wurlitzer in years past and to also have him perform for us many times through the years. I first met him in 1964 at the Leona Theate in Homestead, PA, and he has been a personal friend ever since. I spoke with him about a week ago and he asked me...

Nick - A kind, sweet and gentle man with a great sense of humor. Thank you for sharing the world of music with Eric. He enjoys the piano but I truly think he enjoyed the time with you more! Music was your world...you were Eric's music. You will be missed.
