Not sure what to say?

I first met Uncle Nick when I was in 7th grade (1967) and had him for science class. He was easily my favorite teacher. Although I didn't have him in 1968, he would frequently sub for his science partner. We held class in the old Jr high auditorium and I sat way in back with a radio to my ear to listen to the tigers beat the Cardinals in the world series. Nick just let me listen to the radio and never said a word. To my pleasant surprise I ended up marrying his favorite niece Debbie (ha...

Lisa, so sorry to learn of our Uncle Nick passing away. We stopped a few summers back to visit him while on a family vacation to Michigan. I’m so glad we did. I recall him and your mom, while growing up in Byron Center. We’d stop on Sunday afternoons and visit when I was little. He was a fun, kind spirit. All of your family is wonderful. He was LOVED by so many and will be missed. Love and peace, Pauline (Harolds daughter)

Lisa, I was saddened to hear you lost your Dad this week. It was announced at mass this morning . I often thought of him during our covid restrictions not be able to kneel next to him .Nick was my church buddy for quite some time . He’d always say love ya . I was drawn to him one Sunday after one of his falls and just couldn’t kneel anywhere else after that . A faith filled man , witty, gentle and kind . Rest In Peace dear Nick

To Lisa and all your family I am so sorry for the loss of your dad...I always remember his smile and sense of humor...big hugs and love to you. Anne Schneider-Lockman

A great Teacher- He even got thru my thick skull once in awhile !!

I had Mr. Thull for math in 7th grade at Godwin Middle School. He was one of my favorite teachers. He was a great educator with a lot of patience and a gentle manner. Rest in peace Mr. Thull.

We wish we could be with you to celebrate the life of our favorite Uncle. Aunt Doris and Uncle Nick have been a part of every important occasion of our lives. He was Ken’s teacher at Godwin, MC at our wedding and shared in births, 1st communions, graduations and many visits to Omaha. He drove our Mom and Dad so they could be with us. Our kids adored them both. He was gentle, patient and kind. He was always the teacher, educating us on history, crops along the highway and how to cruise Lincoln...
